Sister-Party Cooperation in Eastern Europe and Latin America

About the program
Through sister-party support, KIC assists our partner parties around the world in their efforts to build strong and transparent democratic structures. We provide support for the development of party organizations and their members, with a particular focus on strengthening the participation and influence of young people and women in politics. The work also includes contributing to political ideas and programs that reinforce democracy and make it more resilient to authoritarian tendencies, corruption and disinformation. Sister-party support is always carried out through close, long-term partnerships and is grounded in shared values of human dignity, the rule of law and accountability.
In Eastern Europe, KIC cooperates with two parties that are part of the Belarusian democratic forces. Together with the Robert Schuman Institute, we also run an academy for young Eastern European politicians, focusing on advocacy work with a particular emphasis on youth and women’s political participation.
KIC also runs a program supporting sister parties in Latin America, in close cooperation with Christian Democratic parties and their youth organizations in the region. The aim of this support is to strengthen internal party structures, develop political capacity, and promote a more value-based and inclusive politics.
Through this support, sister parties are able to enhance their organizational development, increase the participation of women and young people in decision-making, and develop policy proposals rooted in Christian Democratic values. The work is carried out primarily through trainings, exchanges with representatives from the Swedish Christian Democrats (KD), and meetings with young Christian Democrats at the regional level.
If you'd like, I can also make the tone more concise, more formal, or more promotional.
