Guatemala was the first country KIC worked with through support from the Swedish Embassy. PYPA is the largest program ever and targets young politicians in East Africa. The Robert Schuman Institute is the largest sister-party support partner.
How is your work financed?
KIC’s operations rest primarily on the Swedish government’s special strategy for democracy support through party-affiliated organizations (PAO), an initiative launched by former Christian Democrat party leader Alf Svensson during his tenure as Minister for International Development Cooperation.
Our work is based on Christian Democratic values and is largely financed through support from Sida, forming part of Sweden’s overall efforts to strengthen democracy and human rights through international development cooperation.
